Mahabharata, MYTH or HISTORY? Vivek Agnihotri seeks answer in his next film 'Parva' based on Mahabharata

The film, a three-part franchise, was announced in the presence of his team. Joining him at the event was producer and actress Pallavi Joshi, co-writer Prakash Belawadi, and the author of the original novel ‘Parva,’ S. L. Bhyrappa.

After The Kashmir Files and The Vaccine War - Director Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri is gearing up for his news project , in which will be making a 3-part film on the great Indian epic Mahabharat. The film will be based on Padma Bhushan Dr SL Bhyrappa’s modern classic ‘Parva – An Epic Tale of Dharma’.

Vivek Agnihotri posted, “BIG ANNOUNCEMENT: Is Mahabharat HISTORY or MYTHOLOGY? We, at I AM BUDDHA, are grateful to the almighty to be presenting Padma Bhushan Dr SL Bhyrappa’s ‘modern classic’: PARVA – AN EPIC TALE OF DHARMA. There is a reason why PARVA is called ‘Masterpiece of masterpieces’.”
 
Vivek’s ‘Parva’ is an adaptation of the Kannada-language book of the same name, authored by S. L. Bhyrappa. The novel offers a unique retelling of the Sanskrit epic Mahabharata, exploring the inner thoughts and perspectives of the main characters. Widely regarded as a modern classic, Bhyrappa’s work has received extensive praise and acclaim. Taking to X, Vivek dropped the first look.
 
After the ceremony was over, Vivek took to the microblogging site X, formerly known as Twitter, to express his gratitude for the honour bestowed upon him. He wrote, “Thank you #NationalAwards for this most prestigious award. Award to #TheKashmirFiles is a tribute to all the victims of religious terrorism. Specially, in today’s context it shows what happens when humanity is absent. Thank you to all the citizens of India.”
 
Along with this caption, Vivek also shared the video played as his introduction at the event, followed by his accepting the award from the President of India, Droupadi Murmu.
