Pune's SPPU becomes first to announce Masters Course dedicated to 'Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj'

Pune, Oct 19: Pune's renowned Savitribai Phule University (SPPU) has announced a Masters degree Course, entirely based on 'Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj'. The course will cover the war strategy and policies of Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

We have studied history of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in our school curriculum. Chh. Shivaji Maharaj scripted history with the creation of Hindvi Swarajya. For the establishment of self rule, the purpose of Hindvi Swarajya, Chhatrapati adopted various war policies. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's biography is linked with numerous battles fought for the Maratha kingdom, all with war strategies worth studying.

The Maratha history that is included in school curriculum includes the stories of these battles. The insights and strategies of these battles will be studied in the SPPU Masters course. It should be noted that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's outstanding leadership, nation building is studied all over the world. However, a full-time course entirely based on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj has not yet been created. That is why, Pune's Savitribai Phule University has provided the students with the chance to take the subject of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj for post-graduate degree.

A one-year post-graduate degree course has been designed to provide an in-depth study of Shivaji Maharaj's concept of nation building, his thoughts about a state, administration, war strategy, comparative study with warriors from around the world, field visits to forts, naval pioneers and much more.
