The cricket fans were disappointed after they came to know that there would be no grand opening ceremony of ICC World Cup 2023 in Ahmedabad on October 5. However, BCCI has now planned a pre-match ceremony ahead of the IND vs PAK clash on October 14 that will take place in Ahmedabad.

BCCI has announced a grand line-up for the ceremony. It has roped prominent singers like Arijit Singh, Sukhwinder Singh and Shankar Mahadevan who will perform at the Narendra Modi stadium starting at 12.30 pm.
 
BCCI had earlier planned the opening ceremony before the start of the WC opener between NZ vs ENG on October 5. They also roped in artists like Asha Bhosle, Shankar Mahadevan, Shreya Ghoshal, Ranveer Singh, and Tamanhaa Bhatia for the event. However, there was no opening ceremony as BCCI canceled last minute. Fans were mighty upset with BCCI for not organizing the opening ceremony for an event like the World Cup.
