New Delhi, September 08: Nearly half a month after India and its citizen celebrated its 75th independence day with full enthusiasm, a shocking incident in which a man can be seen disrespecting the Indian flag has come to light.
Social media used by Himanshu Kashyap has thrown light on the incident which took place in northeast Delhi's Bhajanpura areas. In a video, a man who has been identified as Soni Zaidi is seen cleaning and dusting his white scooter with the national flag.
The videos of the incident have gone viral on social media. A row of controversy has erupted after the incident. Many social media users have started demanding legal action against the man.
Taking cognisance of the video, the Delhi police swung into action and arrested a 52-year-old man for allegedly using the national flag to clean his two-wheeler. Police have booked him under section 2 of the Prevention of Insult to National Honour Act, 1971.
The flag used by the person and his scooty has also been recovered, he said.
