India, on Sunday, was defeated by Pakistan by five wickets to start the Super 4s of the ongoing Asia Cup 2022. The Men in Blue had set a target of 181, thanks to Virat Kohli's 32nd half-century. However, the bowlers and fielders could not help to defend the total. Hardik gave away 44 runs, Chahal conceded 43 while Bhuvneshwar’s four overs cost India 40 runs.

Another blunder by India was witnessed after Arshdeep Singh dropped a catch after Ravi Bishnoi, playing his first match of the tournament, created an opportunity to dismiss Asif Ali. Soon after this Indian skipper Rohit Sharma failed to control his emotions as he screamed at the young pacer.

Nonetheless, there was another narrative being created by the Pakistan-backed Twitter account. They have stooped low and targeted Arshdeep’s religion and called him "Khalistani" after another nail-biting finish. This even includes Pakistani journalist WS Khan who said “Arshdeep is clearly a part of the Pakistan-backed Khalistan movement”.

These accounts that target Arshdeep are from Pakistan and run Khalistan propaganda against India. Fake accounts were also created to falsely portray that India was against the Sikh community after Arshdeep missed the catch during the crucial Asia Cup match.

Things went ugly when Arshdeep Singh's Wikipedia page entry was changed to reflect Khalistan association. It was edited and deliberately Khalistan was added.

Republic reported that the IT ministry has summoned Wikipedia executives in India, to meet them today to seek an explanation on how Indian cricket team bowler Arshdeep Singh's Wikipedia page entry was changed to reflect Khalistan association.

However, Pakistan’s attempt to target Arshdeep on social media by calling out his religion and creating false propaganda has been slammed by Indians including Former India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh. He took to Twitter and extended his support to the youngster who seemed to have succumbed under pressure.

“Stop criticising young @arshdeepsinghh. No one drop the catch purposely.. we are proud of our boys .. Pakistan played better.. shame on such people who r putting our own guys down by saying cheap things on this platform bout arsh and team.. Arsh is GOLD,” Harbhajan tweeted.

After the match, even former skipper Virat Kohli backed the youngster and said that in pressure situations like these, an individual can make a mistake and the whole team is behind Arshdeep. Kohli also added that they, as a team, don’t care about the noise from outside as the current captain and coach have created an environment where players feel secure.
