Union Minister of Housing & Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri slammed "journalist" Rajdeep Sardesai for creating "fake narratives" about the newly inaugurated Kartavya Path. Earlier, India Today journalist received backlash on social media for sharing under-construction images of Kartavya Path on Friday.
This issue was brought up when social media influencer Rishi Bagree pointed out that the images shared by Rajdeep were "old pictures during construction". Soon after this, he was heavily criticized for spreading misinformation, given that he is a journalist, and deleted the images.
Further, he once again shared images tweeting, "Since I was being attacked for putting out pics or water logging in the central vista after heavy rain in Delhi, with suggestion that pics were OLD, I am putting out pics with time stamp of all the pics from THIS MORNING. Am sure drainage systems will improve with time! 🙏"
However, this narrative was also slammed by Rishi Bagree stating that gallery images are missing because those were old images. "Just check this picture u just posted. The gallery pictures are missing. Admit it You have posted old pictures sir and move on."
Speaking on the same matter, Hardeep Singh Puri said, "Goebbels believed that a lie told once remains a lie but a lie told a thousand times becomes the truth. Since damage to credibility does not appear to worry the journalist who creates fake narratives, here are some date stamped videos of #KartavyaPath taken around 6.30am today."
