On the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, NewsBharati has come up with an initiative to celebrate India's Independence. We have tried to attempt to introduce 75 Legendary Women of India who have made immense contributions in their respective fields.

A veteran of Netaji's historic Indian National Army, Saraswathi Rajamani is remembered respectfully even today, for her work in the military intelligence wing.

Rajamani was born in a family reputed to be one of the richest Indians in Rangoon. Her father owned a gold mine. However, Saraswathi Rajamani chose the arduous path of military and intelligence for herself, over her father's wealth.

Inspired by the charismatic personality of Netaji Subhashchandra Bose and his enraging speeches in Rangoon, the 16 year old young Saraswathi donated all her jewelery to the Indian National Army and pledged to serve her motherland India to achieve independence.
