Subhadra Kumari Chauhan, is a Hindi poetess from Prayagraj, whose contribution in the Indian freedom struggle is instrumental. The poetess has penned down many poems like Jallianwala Bagh mein Vasant, Rakhi Ki Chunauti, Veeron Ka Kaisa Ho Basant, and Vida, that precisely describe the Indian emotion during the freedom struggle.
An active participant of Mahatma Gandhi's non cooperation movement, Subhadra Kumari was was the first woman Satyagrahi to court arrest in Nagpur. Later she also became a member of the legislative assembly of the Central province.
