On Sunday, India won against Pakistan in a nail-biting match by five wickets in Asia Cup 2022. While there were several videos of the match going viral on social media, one has caught the attention and for the wrong reasons.
After Pandya hit the winning six, the camera panned toward Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary Jay Shah and his gesture of him received backlash. He was seen refusing to hold the Indian national flag. A person was spotted offering Tiranga to him to celebrate the victory, which he refused. However, a section of social media users on Twitter was not happy with this gesture.
Leftists, liberals, and a few netizens also slammed the BCCI Secretary
However, it is learned that Shah had to abide by the rules of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) as he is the reigning ACC President. “Because he is president of the Asian Cricket Council. And as per code of conduct, he has to show neutrality against all stakeholders”, the tweet read.
