Durba
 
Capt. Durba Banerjee is India's first commercial pilot of Indian Airlines in 1956. In a male-dominated era, in a male-dominated profession, Capt. Durba started her aviation career, flying a Dakota with Air Survey of India as a DC3 pilot in 1959.
 
She moved on to join Indian Airlines at the Calcutta base in 1966. She was also the first woman ever to fly the 'Tornado A-200 aircraft. She adds another credit for flying most hours of 18,500 hrs.
