Indian audiences have evolved with time. There was a time when the Indian Film Industry was ruled by 3 Khans, and now, Indians are boycotting their every film. And there was a time when Bollywood used to demean Tollywood, and now it is trying to copy them. Sad but true. Indian viewers have changed with time, and now they are more inclined toward South Indian Movies, here’s know why.
Here are the 5 reasons why Indian viewers are more inclined toward South Indian Movies, rather than Bollywood movies :
1. They respect our culture more: If we consider Bollywood movies, we will find selective secularism, and running behind the western trends is common. However, South Indian movies are still connected to their roots and they respect our culture more. You can see their heroes performing pooja. Wearing tilak, respecting and proudly flaunting their attire Lungi and presenting our culture in a very beautiful way. Take RRR and Bahubali as an example.
2. They have better stories: As per a recent survey, viewers have reported that they like south Indian movies more because of their storyline. Bollywood also copies from time to time, take Drishyam, Chachi 420, Sathiya or RHTDM as an example. All have beautiful storylines, and they are taken from south Indian movies (though Chachi 420 is the official adaptation of the Hollywood movie Mrs. Doubtfire).
3. They don’t have selective secularism: Most South Indian movies do not support selective secularism, unlike Bollywood. They are very clear about their culture, and religion and they are proud of what they are. And that’s why south Indian movies are much more loved by the whole of India.
4. Larger-than-life presentation: If you check all the SS Rajamouli movies, you will find one common thread, that is larger than life presentation. South Indian movies are all about Larger than life stories and presentations. Sometimes they lack the logic, however, this presentation is loved by the entire India.
5. Humble nature of South Indian Movie Stars: In Bollywood, it is all about the limelight and all the shoo shaa. Which you won't find in South Indian Movies. Thye has had nepotism for ages, but they accept outsiders, and even they do not have unhealthy competition because everyone is connected to everyone somewhere. They all are highly educated, engrossed in social life, and extremely down-to-earth. Take new starts like Ram Charan, Jr. NTR, Allu Arjun, Vijaya Devarakonda, etc. Listen to their interviews. You will get the difference. Here is it all about glamour, there it is all about culture and that’s the difference.
