Opposition creates another nuisance with Bharat Jodo Yatra! Twitteratis says Congress should do "#BharatChodoYatra" instead

Recently, Congress unveiled the logo, tagline, and pamphlet of the Bharat Jodo Yatra, a 3,570 km-long nationwide foot march led by Rahul Gandhi that will be kick-started on September 7. As the tagline of the yatra, ‘Mile Kadam, Jude Vatan’and website was launched, the purpose, according to Congress is ‘Ek tera kadam, ek mera kadam, judd jaye pura vatan’ (One step by you, one step by me, come together to unite the nation),” said Digvijaya Singh, who heads the yatra organizing committee.

 

According to Rajya Sabha MP and Congress general secretary, Jairam Ramesh the yatra stands against political division, economic inequality, social polarisation, abuse of the Constitution of India, and the growing centralization of power that the Union government holds over states.

 

Rahul Gandhi will be a ‘Bharat Yatri’. One might wonder does this movement makes sense ahead of 2024 elections and a few Assembly elections the next year. Notably, Congress has been in crisis due to delayed Presidential elections of the party, several MLAs getting in trouble in scams or quitting it.

 

 

Even the AAP took a dig at the Congress for such promotions. AAP's Mumbai unit president and national executive member Preeti Sharma Menon, tweeted, "One more example of how @INCIndia has totally lost the plot. The photo of their dreams is from an #IndiaAgainstCorrution morcha where one can clearly see our youth leader @VandanaSingh. Yes the same #IAC that finished the Congress," she added.

 

Vandana Singh, who is also a member of the Delhi Commission for Women, said, "At least put photos of your party people. This is my photo of Jantar Mantar," she tweeted, adding, "This is the picture when the whole of India joined together and overthrew the Congress from the power of the Centre."

 

The Bharat Jodo Yatra will commence in Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu at 5pm on September 7 which will pass through 12 states and two Union Territories, covering over 3,500 km in around 150 days. The other states will also hold Bharat Jodo Yatra and related events under the programme which will be live-streamed.

 

However, the netizens started a meme fest with Bharat "Chodo" instead of Jodo Yatra.

 

A user said, "Congress should do Bharat chodo yatra instead. Amethi to Italy via waynad." Another user said, "For you n your family... Bharat chodo yatra is more suitable..."

 

 

 

 

Aftering Congress released the route plan for Bharat Jodo Yatra, netizens slammed Congress for not covering West and East and only one place in Tamil Nadu.
