In a horrifying incident, Hindu girls in Barkagaon, Jharkhand were brutally beaten up and forced to do sit-ups in front of Panchayat for supporting Nupur Sharma. They were threatened to convert to Islam.
The incident took place on August 10 when village head Wasin, his son, and his friends forcefully took Suman Kumari and her young sister from the house and were beaten up in front of people. They were also forced to do sit-ups.
Wasim's son and his friends also pressured the Hindu girls to convert to Islam and when they refused, they threatened to kill them. "If you want to live here, convert to Islam", they threatened.

On Wednesday, members of Hindu organizations sat on a hunger strike against the brutality of Hindu girls Suman Kumari and her minor sister. As per reports, Suman, her mother Kiran Devi, and her minor sister were also sitting on hunger strike. Notably, on August 16, Hindu organizations including Bajrang Dal, VHP, and others had threatened to sit on hunger strike if the accused in the case were not arrested within 24 hours.
