The Telugu film ‘Karthikeya 2’ which is the sequel to the 2014 film Karthikeya seems to make noise with its Hindi version due to its gripping plot and storyline. It has performed surprisingly and gained praise on the occasion of Independence Day. The film recorded high occupancy and collection on August 15.
Noted critic Taran Adarsh tweeted about the superb trend of Nikhil's film and shared the box office collections of Karthikeya 2. He wrote, "#Karthikeya2 - dubbed in #Hindi - is creating noise in the #Hindi market, despite [i] releasing on Sat, [ii] facing giants like #LSC and #RB and [iii] showcasing at veryyy few screens/shows... Sat 7 lacs, Sun 28 lacs. Total: ₹ 35 lacs... Growth of 300% on Day 2. HINDI version."
This Telugu supernatural mystery thriller has struck a chord with the Hindi audience, especially in Maharashtra and the collections seem to be rising. The film is competing with Aamir Khan starrer ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ and Akshay Kumar’s ‘Raksha Bandhan’.
Being a mystery adventure saga, the film revolves around Lord Shri Krishna and showcased Indian culture like never before. The concept of Shri Krishna as a historical character seems to have really clicked with the audiences. Netizens says due to its "excellent" cinematic experience for the audiences, it became the first choice for viewing this weekend and Independence Day.
The film stars Nikhil Siddharth and Anupama Parameswaran along with thespian Anupam Kher, Srinivas Reddy. Aditya Menon and Viva Harsha also play pivotal roles. Directed by Chandoo Mondeti and produced by TG Vishwa Prasad and Abhishekh Agarwal, the film seems to captivate more audiences over the weekend. The film also has an interesting score by Kaala Bhairava and cinematography by Karthik Ghattamaneni.
On the other side, Aamir Khan's Laal Singh Chaddha and Akshay Kumar's Raksha Bandhan continue to struggle at the box office. Both films were released on Thursday, August 11, but they failed to outrun their opening day figures throughout their extended weekend.
