New Delhi, July 28: In yet another shameful act by Congress Party, senior leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury took a disgusting dig against President of India, Draupadi Murmu. He, in an TV interview, referred President Murmu as "Rashtrapatni" deliberately.

This came after the senior leader was getting interviewed during Congress protests over ED's questioning against Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. He was asked whether Congress will be marching towards Rashtrapati Bhavan even today. Responding to this, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said, "Congress will try once again today. Rashtrapati is there for help to everyone..Then why Rashtraptni is not helping us".
 
The video went viral with BJP announcing protests against Congress MP Adhir Ranjan's derogatory remarks on President Draupadi Murmu. BJP will march from Gandhi statue to Raj Bhavan at 1 pm and submit a memorandum against the dismissal of Adhir Ranjan.
 
BJP MPs including Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman are seen protesting against Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury on his 'Rashtrapatni' remark and demanded apology from Congress party.
 
 
BJP leader Amit Malviya tweeted, "In another low, Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, condescendingly refers to President Droupadi Murmu as “राष्ट्रपत्नी”. The characterisation is not just sexist but reeks of disdain for a Tribal woman, who has risen from a modest background, to the highest office of land."
 
 
Union Minister Smriti Irani also attacked the party saying, "Congress has been insulting President Droupadi Murmu ever since she was declared as a nominee for the post. Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury addressed the President in a derogatory manner. To disrespect a tribal woman in this manner is utterly disgraceful".
