More than 50k visitors at Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya for the first two months

Within two months of opening, the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya has been visited by important dignitaries including President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, Chief Justice of India NV Ramana, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.

New Delhi, Jun 30: More than fifty thousand visitors visited the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya in the first two months, ever since its inauguration. The fifty thousand visitors have been noted not only from across India but across the world. Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya was opened to the public on Apr 21 and has received overwhelming response ever since.

Within two months of opening, the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya has been visited by important dignitaries including President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, Chief Justice of India NV Ramana, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and several other members of the Union Council of Ministers, Governors of various states, Chief Ministers, judges of the Supreme Court, Chief Justices of High Courts and Lieutenant Governors and Administrators of Union Territories.
 
According to the reports of the Culture ministry, the visitors come to the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya from diverse sections of the society and from all age groups. Family groups, tourist groups, young adults, people with special needs, and school and college groups frequent the Sangrahalaya. Interactive features of the Museum like picture and walk with one’s favourite Prime Minister and the helicopter ride have witnessed tremendous interest and been overbooked almost every day.
 
 
 
 
 
The Sangrahalaya is a tribute to all the Indian Prime Ministers till date, and a narrative record of how each one has contributed to the development of our nation over the last 75 years. Visitors are acquainted with India’s unique journey as a parliamentary democracy through the lives of its Prime Ministers, who came from every class and tier of society, for the gates of democracy are open to all.
 
The Sangrahalaya tells the story of India after Independence in a comprehensive, objective, and interesting manner with technology-based interfaces like Holograms, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, interactive kiosks, computerized kinetic sculptures, smart phone applications, interactive screens and experiential installations. The unique mix of technology to present historical narratives here is a breakaway from conventional museum displays. The logo of the Sangrahalaya signifying the rising hands of the people of India holding the Dharma Chakra also been highly appreciated as a design concept. The levitating national emblem at the reception has gained special popularity.
