New Delhi, Jun 13: Union Minister Kiren Rijiju along with a 25 member delegation on Sunday (Jun 13) left for Mongolia from Hindon Airbase in Ghaziabad with four holy relics of Bhagwan Buddha and said that the move will give a message of peace to the world. Rijiju will be in Mongolia for an 11 day exposition of the relics as part of celebrations of the Mongolian Buddha Pournima on Jun 14.
According to Union Minister Kiren Rijiju, "This will give a message of peace to the world. The friendship between India and Mongolia in very old. After Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Mongolia in 2015, the bond between both countries has become very strong."
The Union Law Minister recalled Prime Minister Modi's 2015 visit to Mongolia, and said that it was the maiden visit of any Indian Prime Minister to Mongolia ever. Taking the relics of Bhagwan Buddha to Mongolia is an extension of the vision of the Indian PM to revive the relations between countries with whom India shares cultural and spiritual ties since centuries.
The Holy relics of Bhagwan Buddha will be displayed at the Batsagaan temple, within the premises of Gandan Monastery. The Holy Buddha relics, that are housed in the National Museum, are known as the Kapilvastu relics, rooting to the site in Bihar called 'Kapilvastu', where they were first discovered in 1898.
