Kerala gold smuggling case:Police use water cannons on Congress workers demanding resignation of CM

Kerela Police on Monday used water cannons to disperse Congress Youth workers gathered outside a guest house where Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is staying.

 

 

The Congress Youth workers staged a march to a guest house in Kannur where the CM is staying and demanded his resignation over the alleged gold smuggling case.Notably, the Kerela CM reached Kannur on Sunday evening and on the request of the police, stayed at a guest house instead of his own residence.

 

 

 

The Congress Youth workers arrived at the guest house on Monday and staged a protest demanding Pinarayi's resignation. The protestors tried to break the barricades and the police used water cannons to disperse them. The protestors still refused to budge and the police had to use force to remove them from the scene.

 

It should be noted that, opposition calls demanding the resignation of Pinarayi Vijayan over the gold smuggling case began after the prime accused in the matter, Swapna Suresh made a startling revelation last week alleging the Kerela CM's involvement in the same.
