Lucknow, June 01: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, hilariously took swipe at Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav, a day after he claimed that during his Chief Minister tenure, a child misidentified him as Rahul Gandhi.
While speaking at the state assembly during the discussion on the state budget, Akhilesh recalled an anecdote of a student mistaking him for former congress President. "I had once gone to a primary school where a child did not recognise me. When I asked who I was, the child said Rahul Gandhi," Yadav had said while addressing the state Assembly. Soon after that, a huge round of laughter broke out at House.
Reacting to the statement made by the Yadav, Yogi Adityanath mocked SP leaders saying Children are innocent and the student, whom Yadav had referred to, must have said this after some thinking.
“The Leader of the Opposition said when he was CM, he visited a primary school. He asked a child if he knew who he (Akhilesh) was. So, the child said, ‘Yes, you are Rahul Gandhi.’ Though kids are innocent, they're pure at heart. Whatever that child said, he must have said that after a lot of thought,” the chief minister said.
He further added, “Anyways, there's not much difference between the two of you. The only minor difference is that Rahul Gandhi criticises India in foreign countries, while you do the same for Uttar Pradesh when outside the state.”
