Bengaluru, May 30: Bhartiya Kisan Union leaders Rakesh Tikait and Yudhvir Singh were shaken up after one unidentified person assaulted them with a microphone and another person threw black ink on their faces during an event held in Bengaluru.
The video of the incident went viral on social media. This incident took place when Rakesh Tikait was addressing the event to clarify a sting operation wherein one farmer leader named Kodihalli Chandrashekar was caught soliciting money.
During an event, one person went on stage and assaulted BKU leaders with a microphone. After a few seconds, another person came on stage and threw black ink on their faces. Soon after the incident, clashes took place between the organisers and the miscreants, leading to both sides attacking each other with plastic chairs.
Rakesh Tikait blamed the BJP government for not providing adequate security for the event. He said, "No security has been provided by local police here. This has been done in collusion with the government." Following the incident, police arrested three people.
