Islamabad, May 28: In his first public address as Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif has raked up Kashmir issue once again. He called for the withdrawal of the abrogation of article 370 and said that it would be essential for peace in Asia.
"For prevalence of peace in Asia, it's India's responsibility to revoke the unilateral and illegal decision of August 5, 2019, so that the issue of Jammu and Kashmir can be resolved with talks," Sharif said during an address to the press. Further, he also called for dialogue with India on the matter if article 370 is restored, and said that the Jammu and Kashmir issue can only be resolved through talks.
Jammu and Kashmir, which is an integral part of India, has been raked up twice earlier by Sharif. In his address, "Why do we want our coming generations to suffer. Come, let's resolve the Kashmir issue in line with UN resolutions and Kashmiris' expectations, so that we are able to end poverty on both sides of the border."

Tensions between India and Pakistan increased after New Delhi revoked the special status of Jammu and Kashmir on August 5, 2019 by abrogating Article 370 of the Constitution. The decision evoked strong reactions from Pakistan. However, India time and again told the international community that the scrapping of Article 370 was its internal matter.
