New Delhi, May 24: The Quad summit that is presently taking place in Japan's Tokyo has begun today. During his address to the Quad members at the summit, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi informed about the support and encouragement that the world has provided for peace, prosperity and stability in Indo Pacific.
During his summit address, Prime minister Narendra Modi said that Quad has emerged as a ‘force for good’. He said, “Mutual trust gives new energy to democratic nations. Quad helps the Indo-Pacific become a better region.” He further added, “Quad has made an important place for itself before the world in such a short span of time."
PM Modi said, "Today, the scope has become extensive, its form effective. At the Quad level, with our mutual cooperation, a free, open and inclusive Indo Pacific Region is getting encouraged – it is the shared goal for all of us." Besides, according to the White House's statement, "Quad partners will strengthen their commitments to the free, full, and open sharing of space-based civil Earth observation data, and will jointly develop and promote the concept of Open Science in the region and globally."
At the same time Quad summit's host country Japan's PM Fumio Kishida appreciated India’s contribution and recalled that Indian-made vaccines delivered under Quad Vaccine initiative were received with gratitude in Thailand and Cambodia recently."
