Home Minister Amit Shah unveils grand 51-foot statue of Bhagwan Parshuram in Arunachal

New Delhi, May 23: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said that the Parshuram Kund in Arunachal Pradesh will soon be connected to the rest of the country with railways. He also laid down the foundation stone of a 51-foot bronze statue of Bhagwan Parshuram, on May 21.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday (May 21), laid the foundation stone of a 51 feet bronze statue of Bhagwan Parshuram at Parshuram Kund in Lohit district of Arunachal Pradesh. The statue is being installed by Vipra Foundation. Besides, Home Minister Amit Shah also unveiled a 6-foot replica of Parashuram ji that was installed during renovating the temple at the Parshuram Kund site.

Home Minister Amit Shah was associated with Chief Minister Arunachal Pradesh Pema Khandu, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Main, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju and several ministers of the state govt for the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony. Famous sculptor Naresh Kumawat who has sculpted the grand statue, was also present at the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony.
 
 
 
 
 
The Vipra Foundation along with Center and Arunachal Pradesh govt has become a major partner in this project being developed under the Centre's PRASAD scheme. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is showing interest in developing Parshuram Kund as a major pilgrimage site of India. In 2021, PM Modi had sent Union Water Resources Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat to lay the foundation stone of Parshuram Kund development.

Later, Union Home Minister Amit Shah along with Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju and CM Pema Khandu visited the Golden Pagoda in Namsai district. Further informing about the developments of the Kund, Amit Shah said on the occasion, “We'll connect Parshuram Kund via the railway. We have laid a network of roads across the state and connected far-flung places in the state."
