Sharing a picture of a beachside road in Karnataka's Udupi district, a former Norwegian diplomat Erik Solheim called the beach road the "world's most beautiful cycling route".

The picture featured a road flanked by a beach on one side and backwaters on the other. The golden sands embracing the frothing turquoise waves were a sight to behold and left netizens impressed.
 
The former diplomate, in a tweet, said, "World’s Most Beautiful Cycling Route? Udupi, Karnataka, India." After Solheim shared the image, it garnered more than 47,000 likes. The ex-Norwegian diplomate did not reveal the location of the road.
 
 
 
However, netizens guessed it to be Maravanthe Beach near the town of Byndoor in the Udupi district. Notably, the image shared by Solheim was originally taken by Dhenesh Annamalai. He shared the image first on his Instagram handle, @aerial_holic. He shared the image on March 9.
 
Along with the image, Annamalai wrote, "Maravanthe Beach so unique is the fact that it is surrounded by two beautiful water bodies, namely the Arabian Sea on the western side, while the placid and amazing Sauparnika River on the eastern side."
