New Delhi, May 17: The Varanasi civil - court has ordered to seal Wazukhana in Gyanvapi mosque after the 'big Shiv ling' was found, said Lawyer Vishnu Shankar Jain, representing the Hindu side in the case. According to the lawyer, Wuzu (Islamic procedure for cleansing parts of the body) should not be performed there, as the Shiv linga has been found at the site.

According to the reports of ANI, Lawyer Vishnu Shankar Jain said, "During the survey exercise yesterday (May 16), we found a well like structure in the middle of the Wazukhana. We requested the commissioner to reduce the water level at the wazukhana. When the water was reduced, we reached the well-like structure and found a big Shiv linga. The Shiv linga has a diameter of around 4 meters and height of around 3 feet. I believe it is deeper in the ground."

The lawyer said, "It was necessary to put the fact under the knowledge of the court. We moved an application in the court seeking order to preserve and secure this important piece of evidence. Following this the court ordered CRPF commandants to protect it round the clock and UP DGP and Chief Secretary to monitor it." He further said, "The area has been sealed. And, performing wuzu at the place of Shiv linga is not justified. We understand the difference between fountain and Shiv linga. If it is a fountain, it would have had a different system. It is a Shiv Linga."
