Chennai, May 16: Tamil Nadu police, once again showing hypocritical behavior, removed posters praising the state Governor for declaring PFI and SDPI to be radical and terror elements, while failing to take action against PFI posters criticising the Governor.
It should be noted that during the book launch function, TN governor, RN Ravi, described the PFI as a ‘threat to India’ and added that the radical group had 16 fronts to camouflage its true activities. He said that the extremist Islamic group is getting support from some political parties for their own politically–vested interests. "This is a threat that we need to be very, very careful about. The country is capable of dealing with them," he said.
TN governor warned, "If they try to distract the attention of the government from the target… they are mistaken, they will be disappointed. The Indian Army, the Indian Security Forces are capable of dealing with them."
After that, Hindu Munnani sprang up posters praising the governor for calling PFI and SDPI terrorist organizations. Meanwhile, PFI also sprang up posters criticising RN Ravi, calling him an RSS supporter. In the PFI poster, it is written in Tamil that RN Ravi should withdraw his statement. "Don’t spit venom in support of RSS. Governor should not work against the interests of the public," it further said.
Madurai Thallakulam Police have filed a case against PFI officials Muhammad Abudahir and Syed Isaac but has made no arrests so far. The PFI posters are still on the walls. Instead of removing the same, the Tirunelveli police removed the posters put up by Hindu Munnani, thanking the Governor for his statement calling PFI and SDPI are terrorist organizations.
The Hindu Munnani functionary Kutralanathan questioned the police personnel when they were removing the posters thanking the Governor near his house. He was seen arguing with the police in a video, and the police left the place after a long debate.
