Mumbai, May 14: Actor Raveena Tandon has made a questionable statement pertaining to the issue of AIMIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi visiting the tomb of the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb in Aurangabad. Her tweet was a response to Anand Ranganathan's, who said "Praying at the grave of the monster who beheaded Guru Tegh Bahadur, decapitated Sambhaji Maharaj, demolished Kashi, and murdered 4.9 million Hindus, is a psychopathic act of provocation."
To this, Tandon said in a tweet, "We are a tolerant race, have been , will be , and remain so. This is a free country. Worship anyone , if you have to.there have to be equal rights for all."
The root of this issue was when Akbaruddin Owaisi visited the tomb of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb in Khuldabad, Aurangabad. Owaisi was in the district days after MNS chief Raj Thackeray held a public rally there demanding removal of loudspeakers from atop mosques.
Gajanan Kale, an MNS leader, said, “The Maharashtra government should take action against Owaisi for visiting the tomb of Aurangzeb. If no action is taken, then the MNS will take the matter in its own hands.”
