Time and again, the US-based New York Times, "news portal" has been involved in publishing anti-India and anti-government articles/news to spread its propaganda and mislead the national as well as the international public. It has once again played such a trick against India. However, the Indian netizens came forward to rip apart the American portal in a very hilarious manner.
This time, it has used the Bharat Bandh to misinform the readers. It published a report claiming that the two-day nationwide strike which involved public and private sector workers "disrupted services across the country". A joint forum of central trade unions, supported by the All India Bank Employees Association, has called for a nationwide strike on March 28 (Monday) and 29 (Tuesday) to protest against the Central government’s policies affecting workers, farmers, and people in general.
However, very little disruption has taken place in across the country except Kerala. But, the NYT shooting its own foot, exaggerated the two-day strike. It hyped up the strike saying that it has brought the nation to a standstill. Seeing the dramatic response of NYT, netizens mocked it saying that when did this happen (disrupted services across the country).
Here are some hilarious reactions:
One commented that "A two-day nationwide strike in India is as visible as independent journalism in The New York Times".
The other took a dig at the NYT saying that the mention of "Anonymous sources", "Reportedly", "Special correspondent" speaks everything about the authenicity of the article.
The reactions of Indian netizens speak for all that the NYT is living in some other universe or it has failed once again to preach its propaganda.
