Muslim mob pelts stones at Holi celebration in Amroha

Amroha, Mar 19: As India celebrated hoil yesterday, disturbing footage emerged from Amroha, UP. This was the first time since 2020 that holi was being celebrated after the pandemic. As people across India celebrate Holi with colors, water and music, Hindus in Amroha were also celebrating Holi. But the muslim commnity in Amroha raised objections on Holi celebration. A horrific incident of stone pelting occured in Amroha.

 

 

 

During holi celebrations in Amroha Hindus were playing Holi with water, colors and music. All of a sudden Muslims in Amroha started pelting stones on this Holi celebration. In this video shared on social media one can see members of muslim community pelting stones. One can see Muslim mob gathering on top of various houses, fully prepared with stones and other unidentifiable material. Muslim mob can be seen hurling stones at Holi celebration in this video.

 

 

 

It is being said that the muslims in that neighborhood raised objections on the usage of the music system during holi celebration. As the hindu community refused to shut off their music system during Holi celebrations, Muslims started pelting stones on the Hindus.

 

 

 

Amroha police has taken cognizance of the matter and has acted upon it as well. Amroha police replied to this video on twitter saying, “In connection with the case, 03 accused have been arrested by registering a case under relevant sections at Amroha Nagar police station. Legal action is being taken.” Police further added, “In connection with the case, 03 accused have been arrested from the spot by registering a case under relevant sections at the police station Amroha Nagar. Other accused are being identified on the basis of the video.”

Some social media users have raised questions as to why this violence took place all of a sudden in Amroha this year. Some have asked whether this stone pelting is related to the recent verdict of Karnataka HC on #HijabBan or #TheKashmirFiles or perhaps even the victory of BJP in #UPElection2022. The matter is being investigated by the police which can perhaps reveal the truth.
