BJP set to form government in Goa, claims supports of 3 Independent Candidates

Panaji, March 10: Goa Chief Minister and BJP leader Pramod Sawant won the election from his traditional Sanquelim Assembly constituency on Thursday. As per reports, Sawant will take oath on Monday, as 3 independent candidates extended their support to BJP.

Theses candidates are Dr Chandrakant Shetye, who is an independent candidate from Bicholim constituency, who declared his support to the BJP in Goa. Independent candidates from Cortalim, Manuel Vaz and Alexio Reginaldo have also extended support to BJP.
 
 
The BJP has taken a lead over Congress in 19 seats, leaving behind Congress which is leading in 15 assembly seats.

Sawant has said that the BJP will form government in Goa and they will take MGP (Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party) and independent candidates along. He said that BJP will win more than 20 seats, and if needed, they will take the support of MGP & independents, who are already in touch with BJP.
