In a veiled message to China, Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu raised a giant tricolor atop a 104-foot flagpole at the Ngangpa Natme (Buddha Park) in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh. It should be noted that it is the second-highest monumental national flag at an altitude of 10,000 feet.
Khandu unfurled the national flag and dedicated it to all patriotic people in the state and country. The CM congratulated Tawang's MLA Tsering Tashi, district administration, Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Indian Army, and all others involved in installing the giant national flag in Tawang.
"Proud to dedicate to patriotic people of Arunachal a 104 ft national flag, which was hoisted today at Ngangpa Natme (Buddha Park) in Tawang," Khandu posted on Twitter.
In another tweet, he said: "At 10,000ft, this monumental national flag overlooking the Tawang city, is second highest in the country in terms of altitude. #JaiHind."
The highest national flag is at Lukung, near Pangong Lake, in Leh. Tawang Monastery is the second-largest and oldest in Asia, located at a height of 3,400 meters. It is a popular tourist destination.
