Three missionaries booked for attempting forceful religious conversion in Karnataka

Bengaluru, December 30: In a shocking development, Karnataka Police has arrested three young missionaries for allegedly attempting to forcefully convert Hindus into Christianity in this district of the state. This incident took place in Tumakuru city, on Monday (December 26).

 

This arrest comes after the victim, Ravi, a resident of Maraluru Dinne situated within the boundaries of Jayanagar police station in Tumakuru city, reportedly filed a police complaint about it.

As per Ravi, the missionaries who were conducting conversion campaigns in the Maralur Dine region arrived at Ravi’s house on Sunday night (December 25) and began mocking Hindu deities. According to the complainant, the accused claimed that he would get God’s blessings only if he became a Christian. Additionally, they promised him safety in case he and his family decide to convert.

They also explained to him that there is only one God and that celebrating Hindu festivals like the Ganeshotsav is blind faith. The evangelists asserted that there are not the 36 crore Gods that Hindu Dharma holds to be true.

 

Following their discovery of the occurrence, Bajrang Dal activists hurried to the complainant’s home to confront the accused. They informed the police who in turn interrogated the missionaries. Further investigations into the matter are reportedly ongoing.
