Bengaluru FC is yet to get their season in the ISL going. With just seven points in the bag, BFC finds a place at 9th in the standings. Since joining the ISL in 2017, Bengaluru FC has experienced highs. It topped the league table in 2017-18 and 2018-19, winning the league in its second season. This season has been dreadful so far for BFC, but things can turn around very quickly.
Amid a series of losses, BFC Sunil Chhetri has a heart-felt request for the fans. He has requested the fans to come to the stadium and support them. He said, "Hi everyone, I know it has not been easy but all of you can get your tickets, come to the stadium things will change. We are trying our best. We are really working hard in training and we will give something back to you to cheer on. See you at the stadiums!"
In another video posted on Twitter, he had a long message for the fans. "It depends on who you are as a fan, because I know the one that feels for the club, the way I feel are the ones who have been here for last ten years' feel. Probably they will to dowhatever possible for them to come and watch here. And the ones who have lost interest or who are worried that they might not get the three points or for whatever reason the wouldn't want to come, I respect that too," he said.
"It's a part of evolving as a club and a fanbase, you're not going to get all the support all the time. This is what a loss or a streak of losses brings along. And as a player I've seen this and I accept it for the ones who are going to come, who are the ones who want to come for various seasons we'll put a show for you because everyone at the club, players are hurting and they really want to get back the winning race and the least that we can do is to go out there and give our best."
"Feeling down and dusted is something we've felt before, and we've bounced back. We're going to give this everything we have. Because at the end of the day, we are BFC. This is what we do."
"So the ones who can't come, I understand it's okay, take your day off. But for the ones who are going to come, we are going to give everything that we have to say. We are.We have seen that this is what we do," he concluded.
Back-to-back losses against fierce rivals ATK Mohun Bagan and Kerala Blasters have halted the run of momentum gathered with the victory in Goa. The Blues will want to get back to their dominant ways at home. They have an opportunity to end the first half of the season with a run of points, which could be the catalyst for a turnaround.
The Blues have now managed to win just two games in nine attempts in the ISL. They have also scored the joint-fewest goals this season, level with their next opponents, Jamshedpur FC, at six goals.
It will now take on Jamshedpur FC in the Indian Super League (ISL) at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru.
