Palakkad, November 08: In a shocking development, the investigating officer, M Anil Kumar, who is probing the alleged killing of RSS leader SK Srinivasan in Kerala’s Palakkad district has allegedly received a death threat.
As per the reports, an unknown person called him on Saturday night and asked him “keep a casket ready”. Based on his statement, a complaint has been filed at the Palakkad-Town South police station.
For unreserved, Srinivasan, a former district leader and office-bearer of RSS, was attacked by a group of six people at his motorbike shop in Melamuri near Palakkad on April 16.
The 45-year-old was attacked barely 24 hours after PFI leader Subair was hacked to death at Elappully in the district while he was returning home along with his father after offering prayers in a mosque on April 15 afternoon.
According to the police, Srinivasan was killed in retaliation for the murder of the PFI leader (43) on April 15.
In September, Palakkad district secretary of PFI, Aboobaker Siddik, was arrested for allegedly hatching a conspiracy to kill the RSS leader. So far, more than 34 PFI workers have been arrested in the case.
Siddik was allegedly among PFI activists who had planned retaliatory attacks on leaders of several political organisations including the BJP, CPI(M), and Youth League — the youth wing of the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), PTI reported.
The PFI, however, refuted the charges and accused the CPI(M)-led LDF government of trying to hunt down its workers in the state as it was upset with the huge turnout in a rally organised by the outfit in Kozhikode.
