Coimbatore blast: Muslim Jamath leaders visit Kottai Easwaran temple, condemn the explosion

Coimbatore, November 04: In a major development, leaders of the Muslim Jamath visited the site of the car cylinder blast near Sangameshwara temple in Coimbatore and held a discussion with its executive officer and temple priests.

 

The members of the Masjid committee condemned the act of terrorism and said that they would stand by the unity among Hindus and Muslims in the city. A delegation of 13 members from Idhayathul Islam Shafia Jamaat, Thareekathul Islam Shafia Jamaat, and Kerala Muslim Jamaat visited the temple to maintain communal harmony in the textile city.

 

 

The Federation general secretary Haji M A Inayatullah said that no one to date could break the unity between Hindus and Muslims in the city.

 

 

 

 

“Muslims have been living in the Kottiamedu area for more than seven generations. People who follow different faiths are living together in peace for many years with brotherhood. No one can break the unity between Hindus and Muslims in the city”, he said.

 

 

For unreserved, on 23 October, an LPG cylinder burst inside a Maruti 800 car in Coimbatore. Initially, the explosion was thought to be an accident, however, the state DGP Sylendra Babu made some shocking discoveries that revealed a terror angle. One Islamist accused identified as Jamesha Mubin also died in the incident.

 

 

 

Police arrested six men in connection with the incident and booked them under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. The Police during the investigation also recovered unexploded LPG cylinders, steel balls, glass pebbles, and aluminum and iron nails from the spot.

 

The NIA, which has taken over the investigation into the Coimbatore blast, conducted several raids on November 2. During the investigation, the NIA recovered, documents and charts on Jihad from the home of Jamesha Mubeen killed in the Coimbatore car blast on October 23.

 

 

 

A slate, recovered from Mubeen’s home, read: “We will uproot anyone who dares to touch the house of Allah.” An Arabic phrase accompanied the warning.
