Bali, November 15: In yet another development that is highlighting that India is emerging as the world's most powerful country, United States President, Joe Biden, again walked to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to greet him during the G20 summit.
The video of the incident is making rounds on social media. As per the video, Biden is seen walking towards to PM Modi, greeting him with a smile, before the session at the summit began. PM Modi can be seen speaking to Biden for over a minute while the two leaders shared a warm hug before the G20 session commenced.
Speaking to the press, US State Department Spokesperson Zed Tarar said, "There is a friendship between President Biden and PM Modi which is apparent."
This is the second time that US POTUS has walked to PM Modi to meet him. Earlier Biden walked up to greet Prime Minister Modi at the G7 summit.
The prime minister was seen shaking hands with French President Emmanuel Macron before the G20 conclave and both leaders greeted each other with a smile. Taking to Twitter, PM Modi said that they held a 'brief discussion'.
