Nagpur, Oct 5: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangha (RSS) Chief Mohan Bhagwat on Wednesday (Oct 5) addressed the Swayamsevaks at the annual Vijayadashami event at the RSS headquarters in Nagpur.
Mountaineer Santosh Yadav was the chief guest for the RSS's annual Vijayadashami program. The incident of a woman being invited as the chief guest for the RSS Vijayadashami Program is historic and is happening for the first time. In his speech, RSS Chief Mohanji Bhagwat spoke on several aspects of the nation. Here are 5 important pointers of his
Vijayadashami speech;
1."Neither threatens nor gets threatens" kind of Hindu society
The RSS Chief mentioned in his speech that it is 'neither nature of the Sangha nor Hindus' to endanger the minorities and that RSS stands on the side of brotherhood. Bhagwat said, "Scaremongering is done among the minorities that there is a danger to them because of the institution or because of Hindus overall. But this (minorities endangered because of RSS and Hindus) has not happened in the past and neither will it happen in the future." He said, rather on the contrary, "neither threatens nor gets threatens" is the kind of Hindu society that is needed.
2. Sangha on the side of brotherhood and peace
The Sarsanghachalak said, "Self defence and defence of our own have become a duty for everyone against those who spread hatred, commit injustice and atrocity and engage in acts of hooliganism and enmity towards society. He said that the Hindu society is not 'anti - anybody'. Bhagwat said, "Sangha resolves to stand on the side of brotherhood, amity and peace."
3. RSS will continue to emphasize the word 'Hindu'
The Sarsanghachalak said, "Second type of obstacle that hinders Sanatana Dharma is created by forces who are inimical to Bharat's unity and progress. They spread fake narratives, encourage anarchy, engage in criminal acts, foment terror, conflict and social unrest." Bhagwat further said that, "the Sangha will keep emphasizing the word 'Hindu'.
He further explained that the concept of Hindu Rashtra is being discussed all over. Many agree with the concept but are opposed to the word 'Hindu' and prefer to use other words. He said, "We don't have any issue with that. For the clarity of the concept - we will keep emphasizing the word Hindu for ourselves."
4. Patriotic youth and a more conscious society
Asserting that English is not important for a career, Bhagwat said the New Education Policy should lead students to become good human beings, who are also inspired by patriotism. He said, "It's a myth that English is important for a career." Talking about becoming a more conscious society, the Sarsanghachalak said, "People should definitely raise their voices against what they feel is wrong, but by acting within the framework of law."
5. Comprehensive Policy on Population
Calling for a comprehensive policy on Population, Bhagwat said, "
Religion based population imbalance is an important subject not to be ignored. So a comprehensive population policy should be brought and should be equally applicable to all. Only then rules pertaining to population control will yield results."
