Arun Govil, who is popularly known for portraying the role of Lord Ram in Ramanand Sagar's television series Ramayan, continues to be revered and hailed as God by the audience.

In one such incident, a video of him at the airport went viral on social media platforms. In the video, one can see a woman touching his feet out of respect and getting emotional on meeting the actor at the airport.
 
She sits in front of him with folded hands. Even though he is a little hesitant initially, Arun greets her affectionately and has a conversation with her.

The video was shared with a caption, "Arun Govil ji, played the role of Shri Ram in the TV serial Ramayana, and the serial was aired by Doordarshan during 1987-1988. And even now, the people still see Lord Ram in him. Amazing devotion!"
 
 
Soon after this, another video was shared by several netizens. The woman went to see her husband who was admitted to ICU. After the meeting, she gave an orange dupatta given by Arun Govil at the airport. While giving, she said, "Bhagwan Shri Ram has given me this dupatta."
 
 
Ramayan first aired in 1987 on Doordarshan. It was widely loved by the audience. It was written, produced and directed by Ramanand Sagar. During the lockdown in 2020, the series aired on television again after almost 33 years.
 
Yet again it received a lot of love from the audience and set the world record by becoming the most viewed entertainment program globally.
 
It's rerun also gave a new lease of life to its star cast which includes Arvind Trivedi (Ravan), Sita (Dipika Chikhlia). The show also starred Dara Singh who played Hanuman and Vijay Arora who was seen as Indrajit. retelecasted in 2020 during the Covid-19 lockdown.
