UK PM Rishi Sunak celebrates Diwali, extends wishes saying, "Will build a Britain where children can light their Diyas"

London, Oct 27: The newly appointed United Kingdom Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, shared Diwali wishes on Wednesday from his official residence in London, a day after being appointed as UK PM.

 

 

This came after the 42-year-old Indian-origin British Prime Minister attended a Diwali reception at 10 Downing Street. Sunak extended Diwali wishes to everyone and pledged to do "everything I can in this job to build a Britain where our children and our grandchildren can light their Diyas." He shared a picture of himself attending the Diwali reception.

 

 

Rishi Sunak is the fifth Conservative party leader elected to the top post in the past 6 years. Rishi Sunak is the first person of Indian origin to become the British Prime Minister. Also, Rishi Sunak is the youngest British prime minister in 200 years.
