You are a liar, thief...: Pakistan Finance Minister welcomed in this way at US airport

Washington, Oct 14: Pakistan Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, who arrived in the US on Thursday to attend the annual meeting of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank, was called a 'chor' (thief) and a 'liar'.

In a video shared on Twitter, the Pakistan minister was seen being greeted with chor, liar remarks. You are a liar, you are a chor, a person was heard saying in the viral video.

Following the remark, a Pakistani official, who was accompanying minister Ishaq Dar, can be seen responding in anger when others escorted minister Dar away. "You don't know me. Don't f**king try to be a smart ass," the official was heard saying to the person who made the chor remark.

In September, Pakistan Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb was heckled in a similar manner at a London cafe allegedly by overseas Imran Khan supporters. Several videos of the incident had showed protesters circling Marriyum and slamming her for "looting public money to enjoy in London".

The annual IMF and World Bank meetings are underway in Washington. Pakistan, which was ravaged by floods of biblical proportions recently, has been seeking rescheduling of bilateral debts with different countries. However, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar's pledge to strengthen the currency and decision to slash fuel prices puts him at odds with IMF demands.
