Fondly known as 'Arjuna of India', Anjali Bhagwat was first Indian woman to enter into Shooting world. Her first major win came when she earned the title of2002 ISSF Champion of Champions combined-air-rifle event and become the first Indian to win that competition.

In 2002, she won four gold medals at the Commonwealth Games and silver medals as part of the Indian women’s team at both the ISSF World Cup and Asian Games. In 2003, she became the first Indian woman to bag a gold medal at the ISSF World Cup Final.

 
 
Representing India at Olympics for three times, she became a finalist in the 2000 Sydney Olympics, a first for any Indian women shooter and also the first Indian athlete to make an Olympic final since P.T.
