Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 12: A day after a spine-chilling case of Human Sacrifice came to light in Kerala, the police during the investigation found that after killing the victims accused chopped their body parts and even ate the flesh of their victims.
The accused couple-Bhagval Singh, a traditional massage therapist and healer, and his wife Laila made this shocking revelation to police during their questioning. The accused said that they consumed the flesh of their victims after murdering them. The incident reportedly took place in Elanthoor of Pathanamthitta district of Kerala.
The main accused Bhagawal Singh was a former CPM branch committee secretary and is currently a CPM local committee member of Elanthoor, Pathanamthitta.
Police sources say the accused revealed the shocking details during the evidence collection held at their home. The forensic examination and evidence collection will continue on Wednesday too.
The two deceased have been identified as Thrissur native Rosilyn (49) and Tamil Nadu native Padma (52) who were murdered on June 6 and September 26 respectively. Two women were tortured and killed by the trio before their bodies were chopped and buried.
The couple is being questioned at Kadavanthara police station and will be produced in the magistrate Court today. Meanwhile, a CCTV footage of Padma, the first victim in the case going to Shafi's (the agent who introduced the two women to the couple for 'sacrifice') hotel in Ernakulam during the month of June has surfaced.
The two women victims used to sell lottery tickets on the streets to earn a livelihood. They were allegedly sacrificed by the accused to settle financial disputes and to bring wealth and prosperity to life, police said.
During interrogation, the accused revealed that they killed the two women by slitting their throats, and cut their body parts into pieces before burying them near their house in Pathanamthitta district, said a report in PTI.
Based on a missing complaint, Kadavanthra Police initiated a probe that led to the shocking story of human sacrifice.
