Sindh, August 31: State-backed terror against minorities continues in Imran Khan-led Pakistan as once again the Islamist mob vandalised another Hindu temple and broke the idol of Lord Krishna in Pakistan's Sindh province.The incident happened at the time when locals were celebrating Janmashtami festival at the temple.
Prominent journalist Aditya Raj Kaul threw light on the shameful incident. The mod ransacked the temple and idol of the Lord Krina in front of the helpless Hindu minorities who were gathering there to celebrate the Janmashtami in the temple. The temple is located at Khipro in Sangharr District of Sindh.
Local Hindu woman who is also an eyewitness gives details of the brutal act and said some Islamists desecrated the Krishna idol.
It should be noted that this is the second attack on minorities in less than a month. Minority Hindu temples have been regularly attacked and gutted in Pakistan. Earlier, the mod demolished the Ganesh temple which is situated in Bhong city of the Rahim Yar Khan district, some 590 km from Lahore.
After the Indian government summoned Pakistan's charge d'affaires over the incident, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan condemned the attack and later restored the temple.
Earlier, several temples, including Mata Rani Bhatiyani Mandir in Sindh, Gurudwara Sri Janam Sthan, a Hindu temple in Karak in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were attacked in Pakistan. Hindus constitute the largest minority community in Pakistan. As per the official estimates, 75 lakh Hindus reside in Pakistan, mostly in Sindh province.
