Srinagar, Aug 30: With people celebrating Krishan Janmashtami in the nation, several videos of celebration of Lord Krishna's festival from Lal Chowk area of Jammu & Kashmir has gone viral on Twitter.
In the video, one can see people celebrating and singing hymns for Lord Krishna, who was born on this day as per Hindu calendar. Here are some more visuals of the spectacular ‘Shobha Yatra’. Devotees can be seen dancing and rejoicing on the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami.
It is the first time in 32 years after the Hindus' exodus, that this Hindu festival procession is taking place in this way at Lal Chowk. Earlier this month, the Lal Chowk was also lit up for the Independence Day celebrations. This, too, happened for first time in years.

Sunanda Vashisht said, "I cannot believe what I am seeing. Janmashtami shobhayatra was a big part of my childhood. It used to pass through my house and I would wait for hours to see it. Then it all stopped. Seeing this in Lal chowk today made me very emotional. Jai Shri Krishna. May Dharma protect all."
Many firsts are taking place after the Indian government abrogated Article 370 in August 2019, which gave the special state status to the erstwhile state of Jammu & Kashmir.
