'Nostalgic experience': Chief of Army Staff praises Shershaah makers for its 'realistic battle scenes'

New Delhi, August 30: India's Chief of Army Staff, General MM Naravane has appreciated the efforts of the makers of Shershaah and the crew for the realistic portrayal of the 1999 Kargil war. He also added that the movie motivates us all.
Shabbir Boxwala, one of the producers of the most recent war film, shared the photos of the letter on his social media account. saying he was ‘beyond delighted to receive the letter for his hard work. He said, ‘Humbled and beyond delighted to have received such high praise for #Shershaah from our Chief of the Army Staff, Gen. Naravane.’
In the letter, Naravane said that watching Shershaah was a memorable and nostalgic experience for him. He further said that the film accurately depicted battle scenes of the Kargil war.
“I appreciate the genuine effort made by the entire crew in depicting realistic battle scenes of the Kargil war and the esprit-de-corps of the Indian Army." He also said that war movies serve to reinforce the spirit of the supreme sacrifice of soldiers. He concluded the heartfelt letter by saying, "This movie like other war movies in the past will motivate us all."
Shershaah told the untold saga of Indian braveheart, late Captain Vikram Batra, who laid down his life for the nation while recapturing Point 4875 during the Kargil War 1999. Given his role in the capture of Point 4875, the mountain has been named Batra Top. Batra was awarded the Param Vir Chakra, India’s highest gallantry honor for his valor, posthumously.
Shershaah stars Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani in the lead roles. It is directed by Vishnu Varadhan and produced by Karan Johar, Hiroo Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Shabbir Boxwala, Ajay Shah, Himanshu Gandhi. It has been jointly produced by Dharma Productions and Kaash Entertainment. The Shershaah has become one of the best war movies of Indian cinema. It has also become the highest rated Bollywood movie on IMDb with a rating of 8.9.
