New Delhi, August 27: Achieving the unprecedented milestone, India has vaccinated more than 50% of the eligible population inoculated with the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya gave the information about it on Friday. Taking to the social media site he said, "India achieves unprecedented milestone! 50% of the eligible population inoculated with the first dose of #COVID19 vaccine. Keep it up India (clapping hands sign) Let us fight Corona."
According to the Health Ministry, India has administered more than 61 crore vaccine doses. Nearly 68 lakh vaccine doses were administered yesterday.
Out of the 61 crores, over 47,19,00,520 people have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, while nearly 13,91,43,053 have received their second dose.
Till now, over 23 crore individuals in the age group of 18-44 years have received their first dose and over 2 crore individuals their second dose since the start of phase-3 of the vaccination drive.
