Big political reshuffle! President appoints new governors for 8 states

New Delhi, July 06: In major political development, President Ram Nath Kovind appointed new governors for 8 states including Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh. While many were transferred, others were appointed newly. This development came amid the ongoing speculation over the rejig in Union Cabinet.

According to the notification, the Centre has been appointed new 8 governors of Karnataka, Mizoram, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Goa, Tripura, Jharkhand, and Haryana. In the notification, a Rashtrapati Bhavan communication added that the appointments “will take effect from the dates they assume charge of their respective offices.”
 
The Centre has appointed the sitting Union Minister of the NDA Government Thawar Chand Gehlot as the governor of Karnataka. Apart from him, Mangubhai Chhaganbhai Patel, a former minister in Gujarat, has been appointed as governor of Madhya Pradesh.

Moreover, Mangubhai Chhaganbhai Patel, a former minister in Gujarat, has been appointed as governor of Madhya Pradesh. Meanwhile Bharatiya Janata Party state president of Andhra Pradesh, Hari Babu Kambhampati will take charge of Mizoram and Mizoram governor PS Sreedharan Pillai will take the charge of Goa.
 
On the other hand, Satyadev Narayan Arya, governor of Haryana, has been transferred and appointed as governor of Tripura, while Ramesh Bais, governor of Tripura has been transferred and appointed as governor of Jharkhand.
 
This comes amid when there is a buzz going around about the reshuffle in the Union cabinet.
