Kerala CM Vijayan meets PM Modi, reiterates demand for AIIMS in State

New Delhi, July 14: Amid the ongoing health crisis in the state, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and urged him to set up an AIIMS in the state.
 
Apart from it, CM Vijayan also urged PM Modi to clear pending GST compensation dues of ₹4,542 crores. Pinarayi stated that the state has been facing financial issues, so it immediately needs the GST dues of Kerala paid.

While addressing the media in the national capital, Vijayan said he has asked the Prime Minister to immediately provide pending GST (Goods and Services Tax) compensation dues of ₹4,524 crores related to 2020-21 fiscal. According to the Vijayan the state has been facing financial issues and the State needs a lot of help.
 
 
 
 

According to Vijayan, the Prime Minister also expressed his interest in the possibility of inland waterways. They also discussed the proposed Angamaly-Sabari railway line, light metro rail projects at Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode, city gas distribution issues, and proposed petrochemical complex in Kochi, among other matters. Apart from it, the Chief Minister urged Modi to provide more Covid vaccines to the state.
 
Vijayan has further termed the meeting as a friendly meeting and said Prime Minister, also expressed his support for major projects in the State. The Prime Minister also encouraged the State to take up new projects, he added.
 
Apart from PM Modi, Pinarayi Vijayan also met the Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and discussed serval issues. The duo discussed various development and housing issues at the meeting. After the meeting, Hardeep Singh Puri said he was happy to host Kerala CM and said that two issues, precisely about metro and petrol and natural gas were discussed in the meeting.
