#WATCH Ground Report- Chenab Rail Bridge- The Highest in the world!

Indian Railways undoubtedly has been the backbone of our county's transport & logistics system. In its long legacy, it has achieved many milestones. There are many heritages, like ferry and express locomotives which are still working. But Chenab Rail Bridge is the most challenging project the railways had ever undertaken and the most critical portion of Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL), whose construction started in 2004.

 

 

Completing the arch of the world’s highest railway bridge on Chenab river in Jammu and Kashmir, which is 35 meters higher than the Eiffel Tower in France. The overall weight of the arch is 10,619 metric tonnes and the arch work was done by overhead cable cranes for the first time by Indian Railways.
