J&K Terror Attack: Terrorists kills J&K CID inspector in Nowgam

Jammu June 23: Another J&K police has succumbed to death in the terror attack after two unidentified terrorists brutally shot Criminal Investigation Department CID police inspector Parvaiz Ahmad Dar, on Tuesday evening. He, however, succumbed to his injuries later at a local hospital.

Dar was shot at while he was going to offer prayers in Srinagar's Menganwaji Nowgam area. The officer is survived by a wife and two young children. According to the police, the preliminary investigation and CCTV footage revealed that two unidentified terrorists fired indiscriminately upon the police inspector Ahmad in front of the local mosque.
 
 
 
“Preliminary investigation revealed that two terrorists fired upon a police inspector Parvez Ahmad Dar from pistols while he was going to offer Maghrib Prayers. In this terror incident, he sustained grievous bullet injuries and was shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries,” inspector general of police Vijay Kumar said.
 
 
 
Further Cops have registered a case in this regard under relevant sections. An investigation is in progress and officers find out what lead to the attack. The area has been cordoned off and a search is on in the area to nab the accused.
 
Moreover, the Jammu and Kashmir police have released CCTV footage of two terrorists. In the video clip, two men with pistols can be seen firing at the officer who is walking on the roadside from point-blank range.

“Identification is being done. Suspects are being questioned. ...Officers continue to work to establish the circumstances which lead to this terror crime,” the police said.
 
 
Notably, Ahmad was the fourth cop to be killed by terrorists in the union territory in the last two weeks. This was the second attack on policemen in the city in the past six days and the third in the union territory in the last 12 days.
